Bank statement PDF to a categorised Excel ledger
LedgerReady converts bank statement PDFs into a categorised Excel ledger: every transaction with date, description, amount and category, plus a check that opening balance + transactions = closing balance for each statement. From $20 for 100 transactions.
What you should know
- Most banks' downloaded statements are text-based PDFs, which can be read exactly; scanned paper statements need OCR and produce more items to check.
- Statements print money out in different ways: separate withdrawal and deposit columns, a running balance, or sections headed 'Deposits' and 'Withdrawals'. We use the running balance or section to get every sign right.
- The reconciliation check catches a missed or misread line immediately, because the total no longer equals the statement's own closing balance.
- Transfers between your own accounts are tagged so they do not inflate income or expenses.
What LedgerReady delivers for this
A categorised ledger, P&L summary, reconciliation check and the import files you need. On our synthetic test set (two sample businesses the rules were never tuned on, 317 transactions): 100.0% of transactions extracted exactly, 10 of 10 statements reconciled to the penny, 89.6% categorised correctly first time, 14.2% sent to you to confirm, 2.2% wrong without a flag (7 of 317). Every flagged row needs a human review before import. How we measured.
