Credit card statement to a categorised spreadsheet
LedgerReady turns business credit card statement PDFs into a categorised spreadsheet: purchases as expenses by category, refunds as credits, interest and foreign-transaction fees as bank fees, and your card payments kept off the P&L, reconciled to the statement's new balance.
What you should know
- On a card statement a positive amount is money you spent, the opposite of a bank statement. We convert everything to one convention: negative = money out.
- Your payment to the card appears twice (out of checking, into the card). We tag both as transfers so the spending is counted once, from the card.
- Each statement is checked: previous balance + purchases - payments and credits = new balance.
- Trans date and post date can differ by a few days; we keep the transaction date.
What LedgerReady delivers for this
A categorised ledger, P&L summary, reconciliation check and the import files you need. On our synthetic test set (two sample businesses the rules were never tuned on, 317 transactions): 100.0% of transactions extracted exactly, 10 of 10 statements reconciled to the penny, 89.6% categorised correctly first time, 14.2% sent to you to confirm, 2.2% wrong without a flag (7 of 317). Every flagged row needs a human review before import. How we measured.
