Bank statements to a QuickBooks Online import CSV
LedgerReady turns bank and card statements into CSV files ready for QuickBooks Online's manual bank upload, using Intuit's 3-column layout (Date, Description, Amount), one file per account, plus a categorised ledger you can use to assign categories in QuickBooks.
What you should know
- Intuit's help page says each upload file needs either 3 columns (Date, Description, Amount) or 4 columns (Date, Description, Credit, Debit) (Intuit, as shown in search results 2026-10-14).
- QuickBooks imports each file into one bank or card account, so we produce one CSV per account.
- A bank upload brings in transactions to review; categories are assigned inside QuickBooks. Our ledger tells you which category each line should get.
- Card statements are flipped to QuickBooks' sign convention so purchases import as spending, not income.
What LedgerReady delivers for this
A categorised ledger, P&L summary, reconciliation check and the import files you need. On our synthetic test set (two sample businesses the rules were never tuned on, 317 transactions): 100.0% of transactions extracted exactly, 10 of 10 statements reconciled to the penny, 89.6% categorised correctly first time, 14.2% sent to you to confirm, 2.2% wrong without a flag (7 of 317). Every flagged row needs a human review before import. How we measured.
