Statements to a Xero precoded bank statement CSV
LedgerReady produces Xero precoded statement CSVs: each line carries date, amount, payee, description and an account code from your chart of accounts, so transactions arrive in Xero already coded, plus a categorised ledger and P&L summary.
What you should know
- Xero's 'Import a precoded bank statement' lets you map Account Code and Tax Type columns; they must match codes in your Xero organisation (Xero Central, as shown in search results 2026-10-14).
- We use your own chart of accounts codes. Our public sample uses Xero's demo chart codes for illustration.
- Tax Type is left for you or your accountant to set, because it depends on your tax registration and is outside what we advise on.
- Dates are written day/month/year in the Xero file; check your import date format setting matches.
What LedgerReady delivers for this
A categorised ledger, P&L summary, reconciliation check and the import files you need. On our synthetic test set (two sample businesses the rules were never tuned on, 317 transactions): 100.0% of transactions extracted exactly, 10 of 10 statements reconciled to the penny, 89.6% categorised correctly first time, 14.2% sent to you to confirm, 2.2% wrong without a flag (7 of 317). Every flagged row needs a human review before import. How we measured.
